KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Labconco® Announces Innovative Exhaust Blower that Integrates Seamlessly into Building Management Systems

Labconco's new Spectrum Exhaust Blower has unprecedented performance range and on-board intelligence, allowing it to operate with or without a building management system. The powerful 2 horsepower version can be used for almost any feasible chemical fume hood installation, and a 1 horsepower counterpart is available for less demanding applications.

The Spectrum is packed with features that make it easy to use and maintain. The intuitive on-board intelligence can communicate seamlessly with building management systems, new or existing, to help streamline the installation process. The control panel features status indicators to help troubleshoot errors quickly and efficiently to save time and prevent costly repairs later down the line. The status can also be communicated to your building management system, so remote monitoring is a breeze.

The vast performance capabilities contribute to an unprecedented flexibility to meet fume hood ventilation needs with ease. 1 horsepower models with Electronically Commutated Motors (ECM) and 2 horsepower models with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) provide a blower solution for virtually any fume hood airflow requirements while consuming less energy than traditional belt-drive motors. The 1 horsepower model also has added flexibility in that it can be installed on either 115V or 230V systems with the flip of a switch.

The Spectrum is available in a variety of materials to cover applications working with chemicals of any kind. Select from fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP), PVC and epoxy coated steel. FRP and PVC models are designed with Type A Spark- Resistant Construction (per AMCA 99) perfect for applications serving electrically classified hazardous spaces. The coated steel model is suitable for applications serving Class II A2, B2 or C1 Biological Safety Cabinets.

Labconco Director of Ventilation Products Luke Savage explained, "We know that for lab architects, blower sizing has traditionally been a critical and labor-intensive task. The Spectrum Exhaust Blower is going to completely change that. It will remove that pain point from lab planning, and provide a future-proof element of the ventilation system that will provide decades of service, in many cases, even when a lab adds hoods or expands."

Labconco is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of laboratory and ventilation equipment with nearly 100 years of experience. At the forefront of innovation worldwide, Labconco continues to provide tested and true solutions for all ventilation needs.
