Protector XL Floor-Mounted Laboratory Hoods

Models with horizontal-sliding sashes have a loading height of 73.5” (186.7 cm), suitable for applications requiring tall distillation racks, extraction apparatus or large drums. 

Floor-mounted fume hoods are shipped partially unassembled and require some field assembly (not provided by Labconco). They are shipped on 2-3 pallets, requiring placement of lower and upper portions, installation of corner posts, baffles, header, and sashes, and connection of piping and electrical (if included). Detailed instructions are available upon request.

• By-pass airflow design with upper by-pass restriction
• Glacier white powder-coated steel exterior
• Chemical-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced composite panel liner and Opti-Zone(TM) baffle with flame spread index less than 25 per ASTM E84. Baffle is removable for cleaning.
• Removable front and side panels and exterior and interior service access panels for access to plumbing and electrical wiring
• Pre-wired LED lighting with vapor-proof design and ADA-compliant light and blower switches. Lighting rated to 50,000 hours
• 73.5" (187 cm) high sightline from the floor to the header panel
• 4', 5', 6' and 8' models have two tempered safety glass vertical-rising sashes with powder-coated aluminum sash handles and powder-coated steel sash tracks with Clean-Sweep slots. Upper sash handle also includes Clean-Sweep openings
• 8', 10', 12' and 16' models have four tempered safety glass horizontal-sliding sashes with powder-coated aluminum sash tracks
• Vertical-rising sash models have 63.6" (162 cm) loading height
• Horizontal-sliding sash models have 73.5" (187 cm) loading height
• Factory prepared for up to eight service fixtures including two gooseneck faucets
• Factory prepared for up to four electrical duplex receptacles and an airflow monitor
• Powder-coated, stainless steel 12.8" ID exhaust connection(s)
• Shipped in multiple sections: top, bottom and sashes

Fixtures Models May Feature

• Two pre-plumbed service fixtures with forged brass valves, lower right side with brass tubing for gas and lower left side with copper tubing for cold water. Components for converting either or both fixtures to air and vacuum are provided. Inlet tubing is not provided
• One pre-wired GFCI electrical duplex receptacle on lower right side and, on 8' and larger models only, one additional pre-wired GFCI electrical duplex receptacle on lower left side
