Here are a few key questions to guide your selection: 

What volume are you evaporating? 

Both Standard CentriVap and CentriVap Pro models can handle up to 50 ml per container. But if you’re looking to scale up, the CentriVap Pro accommodates more samples with stackable rotor designs—ideal for high-throughput workflows. For volumes beyond 50 ml, consider Labconco’s RapidVap™ Evaporators as an alternative. 

Are your samples temperature sensitive? 

For delicate samples containing RNA, enzymes, or proteins, a Refrigerated CentriVap Pro provides precise thermal control from -10°C to +100°C—helping to preserve sample integrity. 

Are you working with corrosive solvents? 

Harsh chemicals like HCl or acetic acid call for an Acid-Resistant CentriVap Pro, which includes a PTFE-coated chamber, Hastelloy™ components, and a chemically resistant vacuum setup. 

Need eyes on your samples mid-run? 

Add the CentriZap™ Strobe Light to observe your samples through the lid in real time—without interrupting your process.

Step 3: Match Your Rotor to Your Samples

For even greater throughput, many rotor styles—like the DNA, Hex, and High-Capacity rotors—can be stacked to double your sample count. 

Need chemical protection? PTFE-coated rotors are available for applications involving harsh solvents.

Cold traps prevent vapors from reaching and damaging your vacuum pump. Selecting the right trap temperature depends on your sample’s solvent substrate: 

• -50° C: Best for aqueous samples and most general lab use 

• -84° C: Recommended for solvents like chloroform or acetonitrile with lower eutectic temperatures 

• -105° C: Ideal for volatile solvents such as methanol and ethanol
