Vice President of Finance

Location: Kansas City, MO

Labconco is a privately owned manufacturer of Laboratory Equipment.  The Vice President of Finance will be responsible for developing Labconco’s financial management strategy and contributing to developing the organization's strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the VP will oversee and manage the company's finance function, including financial reporting, FP&A, accounting, operational reporting, and market trending. The VP of Finance must be capable of smoothly integrating senior management and their team by fitting into the organization's culture with a hands-on approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as a financial advisor to the CEO and President for strategic planning.
  • Partner with senior leaders to ensure the company hits revenue and profitability targets. Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to proactively identify and address issues affecting overall performance.
  • Oversee all sides of accounting operations, payables, receivables, tax preparation, and auditing processes.
  • Oversee development, oversight, and management of the organization's investments portfolio.
  • Lead and manage the budgeting process.
  • Gather financial data to analyze and forecast profits, trends, costs, and compliance.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly reports.
  • Manage the Property & Casualty Insurance for the organization, working with the VP of HR on the Health & Welfare benefits.
  • Process financial activities of the organization to maximize its profits and plan for its growth.
  • Ensure the organization complies with tax laws and regulations specific to the industry.
  • Function as the Corporate Secretary for Board of Directors and other corporate level meetings 

      

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

Directly supervises the management team in Accounting and Finance. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, coaching, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints; resolving problems; and documenting the aforementioned processes.


      

Education and/or Experience

 

Master's degree or equivalent; or minimum ten years professional experience and/or training with at least five years in finance or accounting management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience in manufacturing preferred.
