Materials Analyst

Location: Kansas City, MO

The Materials Analyst will support a wide range of inventory management responsibilities to include utilization of ERP system, manage and monitor special items and ECOs, routine and non-recurring duties, process improvement opportunities, and inventory analysis.

Requirements

  •  Manage all business processes and forecast all customer material requirements.
  • Manage manufacturing introductions of new and redesigned products.
  • Maintain record of all obsolete inventories and recommend improvements to all product rationalization process and ensure achievement of all targets.
  • Monitor Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Deviation Authorization (EDA) implementation dates and make updates to Syteline.
  • Audit ECO, EDA, and specials for accuracy.
  • Expert user of the ERP and report writing system.
  • Perform data entry of all products, including customized "specials", in the manufacturing database and distribute      corresponding paperwork accordingly.
  • Review and analyze needs and data in order to determine course of action for product data entry, routing, obsoletion, etc.
  • Build, implement and coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and EDA's for new, updated or obsolete items.
  • Analyze, process and coordinate new bill of materials or changes as required.
  • Ensure accurate monitoring of obsolete scrap and scrap to budget and report monthly activity.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments as necessary, i.e. Engineering, Accounting, etc.
  • Train Engineers on manufacturing requirements for ECO.
  • Audit end of month shipping report. 
  • Assist with annual physical inventory.
  • Utilize software tools for adhoc and routine report writing.
  • Apply appropriate problem solving techniques for process improvement opportunities and implementation.

Audit and report the financial impact of business decisions related to inventory. 


Other Duties

Perform other duties as assigned by Materials Manager or Manufacturing Management.


 Work Schedule

Normal working hours are typically 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday; unless otherwise discussed and/or established by the manager or seasonal schedule changes. From time to time additional hours may be required, as needed. This position is expected to work from the office.


Supervisory Responsibilities

While this position does not directly supervise employees, they will be supporting the Materials Manager in auditing processes and serve as backup when necessary.


Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four year college or university and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
