Quality Assurance Inspector
Location: Kansas City, MO
Labconco is a manufacturer of Laboratory Equipment. We are focused on providing the highest quality equipment with the best customer service and customer experience from sale through the whole lifespan of the equipment. This starts with our Metal Fabrication and Assembly processes.
Our Quality team completes the inspection and testing of components and completed products to ensure that our equipment meets all customer specifications and Labconco quality standard requirements.
We are adding a member to our QA team to help provide additional presence within our Metal Fabrication and Powder Coat Paint operations by increasing 1st article and in-process inspections. This associate would aid in the reduction of scrap and assist our Metal Fabrication department increase overall efficiency and quality standards.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and customer specifications.
- Perform root cause failure analysis and implantation of corrective actions.
- Perform incoming inspections, First Article, in-process and final inspections.
- Initiate Non-Conformance reports (Material Rejection Notices) as required
- Input and perform trending of key inspection process metrics.
- Document and report inspection findings, results and monitor corrective actions.
- Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per requirements.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.
- Communicate with Engineering to ensure schematics, manuals and products are in compliance with all design requirements.
- Document information in various databases and other internal programs; log non-conformities and generate a Rejection Material Report (RMR).
- Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products. Insure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels, and overall appearance, etc.

Education/Experience
Associates degree with at least 2 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, no less than 5 years of experience skill trades, metal fabrication/welding, blueprint reading and experience with measuring instrumentation (rulers, calipers, gages, micrometers, etc).
