Payroll Coordinator

Location: Kansas City, MO

Responsible for all aspects of payroll, including processing weekly payroll, running benefit reports, reconciling weekly / monthly reports and journal entry. Also responsible for administrative assistant duties for the Vice President of Finance and the Controller.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review, reconcile and finalize daily labor edits for the Kansas City and Fort Scott manufacturing plant.
  • Process and balance weekly and bi-weekly payroll.
  • Compute and reconcile weekly payroll for the Payroll Journal.
  • Process profit sharing and union dues.
  • Process payroll withholdings, as required, including garnishments.
  • Code all freight bills for Accounts Payable.
  • Compute and reconcile monthly Payroll Journal, Labor Distribution, Head Count, Insurance Allocation, and Liability spreadsheet.
  • Process and distribute monthly financial departmental reports.
  • Prepare and process bonus and commission checks.
  • Complete employment verifications, as required.
  • Review, reconcile and distribute W-2’s.
  • Distribute, reconcile and replenish petty cash as needed.
  • Process deposits for checks received.
  • Assist the Vice President of Finance and Controller when needed.
  • Provide backup support to switchboard.
  • Perform general payroll and office duties including sort mail, scan, fax, file, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday; unless otherwise discussed and/or established by the manager or seasonal schedule changes. From time to time additional hours may be required, as needed.

Experience with PAYLOCITY a plus!

High School Diploma and at least 1 year of experience required.
