Freeze Dry Service Seminar

Workshop Dates: October 13 & 14, 2008

Purpose

Sample concentration and solvent recovery are procedures of vital importance in the laboratory today. The equipment used for these procedures utilizes various mechanical and chemical principles to accomplish these tasks. This informational one and one-half -day seminar will allow service representatives and laboratory personnel the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the theories behind this equipment and give them the knowledge to diagnose common repair problems. The session will begin with a brief lecture on the basics of lyophilization (freeze drying) and sample concentration. It will cover the theory, pressure/temperature relationships and common laboratory applications and equipment. The main focus of this seminar will be to provide attendees with interactive hands-on demonstrations on how to install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair both freeze dry and concentration systems, along with accessory vacuum systems. While visiting our headquarters, seminar participants will have the opportunity to operate a variety of Labconco equipment.
